VERIDEX Alethia runs its own validator node on Canton Network's public DevNet and TestNet

London, 24 September 2026. VERIDEX Alethia now operates its own node on the two public test environments of Canton Network, one of the networks on which DTCC processed real production trades with tokenised securities in July.

In brief

On 9 September 2026 the Canton Foundation approved VERIDEX Alethia Labs Ltd as a validator operator, in a public batch of 25 approvals. On 18 September the company brought up its own node on both public environments of the network, DevNet and TestNet. It now takes part, under its own party and on test environments, in one of the networks on which DTCC processed real production trades with tokenised securities in July. The limits of that fact are set out below.

What happened, in order

The approval came first. The Canton Foundation's Tokenomics Committee reviews validator requests and publishes the approvals on its announcement list. The batch of 9 September carried 25 entities, with VERIDEX Alethia Labs Ltd among them. The message is public, and the company appears under its registered name.

Then the network had to let the node in. A validator node communicates with the Super Validators that run the Global Synchronizer, and it can only do so from an address those Super Validators have agreed to admit. The company submitted the fixed IP addresses of its nodes for DevNet and TestNet on the day of approval. The Global Synchronizer documentation puts the adoption of a new allowlist at between two and seven days. The company ran its check on the morning of 18 September, once its node was built, and found the Super Validator endpoints on DevNet reachable; the adoption itself may have happened any day before that.

DevNet is self-service from that point: the node requests an onboarding secret, joins, and is assigned a party. TestNet is not. Its onboarding secret is issued by hand by the sponsoring Super Validator, in this case the Canton Foundation, and it is single-use. The Foundation issued it on the afternoon of 18 September. By the end of that day the same node was running on both environments, with its own party on each. The Canton Foundation team took the company from approval to a running node with clear steps and quick answers.

What a validator node is, and is not

Canton Network describes itself as the first privacy-enabled open blockchain network, and the Global Synchronizer as its decentralized interoperability backbone. The Super Validators run that synchronizer. A validator node is how a participant takes part: it holds the party under which that participant's contracts live, and it submits transactions to the synchronizer for ordering and confirmation. The contracts themselves stay with the parties involved, which is the property the network was designed around.

Running a validator node is an operational fact, not a status. It says that the company has met the Foundation's requirements to operate one and has done the work of bringing one up. It does not say that the Foundation, the Super Validators or any other participant has reviewed, tested or endorsed what VERIDEX Alethia builds. Approval is granted to the operator of the node; it says nothing about the software the operator runs behind it.

Why this network

Rights Continuity, the category VERIDEX Alethia works in, is about evidence that stays reviewable across systems, jurisdictions and time. That evidence is only useful where the rights it describes are being moved, pledged and settled. On 15 July 2026 the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation reported that it had processed production transactions with securities held at The Depository Trust Company in tokenised form, with more than thirty participating firms, on Hyperledger Besu and on Canton. The institutions VERIDEX Alethia writes for are building on those rails. Rights Continuity only matters where the rights themselves move. Running a node on that network is how the company gets close to the flows it is built for; what it does there with any counterparty remains a controlled pilot, not a service.

What this shows, and what it does not

The company operates a node the network has admitted, on the two public test environments, and can take part in Canton under its own party.

It does not show that anything the company builds has been exercised by a third party, because it has not. It does not show a production deployment, because DevNet and TestNet are test environments. The documentation states that DevNet is reset roughly every three months and TestNet every three to six; only MainNet is never reset. And it does not show that any capability of VERIDEX Alethia is available for external use. Every product the company describes remains in a controlled pipeline, and a running node does not move any of them out of it.

MainNet is a separate step. The Foundation operates a waitlist with weekly allocations, currently fifty validators a week, and prioritises projects with functional builds on DevNet or TestNet. VERIDEX Alethia is on that list and has no allocation to report.

What comes next

The next cycles run on TestNet, where the node now sits with the other approved operators. Super Validators and teams operating real assets on Canton who want to work with the company can do so in a controlled pilot, under the disclosure the company applies to everything it has not yet exercised with a third party: controlled testing, reviewed by a person, and not offered as a production service.

Definitions

Validator node. A node operated by a participant of Canton Network. It holds the participant's party, submits transactions to the Global Synchronizer and keeps the participant's contracts. Operating one requires approval from the Canton Foundation's Tokenomics Committee on TestNet and MainNet.

Super Validator. One of the operators of the Global Synchronizer, the shared ordering and confirmation service of Canton Network. Super Validators admit validator nodes to the network by adopting their addresses into the allowlist.

DevNet, TestNet, MainNet. The three environments of the Global Synchronizer. DevNet and TestNet are test environments that are periodically reset; MainNet is the production environment and is never reset. Nothing in this announcement concerns MainNet.

Rights Continuity. Evidence that stays reviewable across systems, jurisdictions and time.
