Compliance & perimeter
What VERIDEX is, what it is deliberately not, its status, and how it treats regulatory frameworks. Last updated: 3 July 2026.
VERIDEX Alethia operates the category it calls Rights Continuity: a neutral capability that keeps a documented right’s evidence reviewable after execution - across signatures, control, identity, jurisdictions, systems and time. The perimeter below is not a disclaimer added at the end; it is the first piece of the architecture, and we keep it precise on purpose.
What VERIDEX does
VERIDEX preserves, versions, chains and exposes the evidence that lets others - counsel, courts, regulators, auditors and counterparties - make their own determinations reproducibly and traceably. The second reviewer opens a pre-assembled, source-labelled package instead of reconstructing it from original artifacts.
What VERIDEX does not do
VERIDEX preserves and makes evidence reviewable; it does not determine. Specifically, VERIDEX:
- does not determine legal validity or legal effect - whether a right is enforceable, admissible, transferable or valid is for legal systems, courts and counsel;
- does not certify compliance - regulatory responsibility remains with the supervised entity;
- is not a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP) and does not issue qualified signatures, seals or timestamps;
- does not create or certify electronic transferable records;
- is not a source of public faith and does not replace a public registry or notary;
- does not create, sign, custody, control, tokenize or transport value as an oracle;
- is not a fraud detector - it shortens the distance between a divergence and its discovery; it does not prevent origin fraud;
- does not provide legal, financial or tax advice.
It reconciles by reference to standards; it does not confer legal validity and does not declare equivalence between regimes.
Perimeter at a glance
| VERIDEX is not… | …because that is done by |
|---|---|
| A Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP) | QTSPs, under eIDAS |
| An eVault / authoritative-copy system | eVaults and depositaries |
| A tokenization / RWA-issuance platform | Tokenizers |
| A blockchain oracle | Data oracles |
| A public registry / notary / source of public faith | The sovereign state |
| A determiner of legal validity or compliance | Counsel, courts, regulators |
| A fraud detector | (no one - VERIDEX shortens the distance to discovery, it does not prevent) |
Status and maturity
VERIDEX is pre-commercial. It operates a design-partner pilot and, as of the date below, has no clients in production and makes no claim of general availability. Each capability is labelled with a maturity mode:
- Design partner / bounded pipeline - implemented and running in a controlled, pre-commercial environment; not a production deployment and not general availability; subject to configuration, source availability, supported right type, jurisdiction and a legal basis defined by counsel.
- Controlled testing - internal pilots; not suitable for external automated decisions.
- Roadmap - planned or in design; no commitment on date, availability or final scope.
Blockchain anchoring runs on Arbitrum Sepolia (testnet) during the pilot; migration to Arbitrum One (mainnet) is planned for Q3 2026. PDF certificates and the Evidence Continuity Index are independent of the blockchain network used.
How we treat regulatory frameworks
We reference frameworks such as eIDAS / eIDAS 2, the UNCITRAL model laws (MLETR, MLIT), UCC Article 12, MiCA and DORA, and national regimes, to describe the landscape our category addresses. These references are illustrative and multi-jurisdictional; they imply no compliance, equivalence, certification or recognition under any of them, and their application must be assessed with local counsel in each relevant jurisdiction. VERIDEX supports the workflows and evidence for entities subject to those frameworks; regulatory responsibility remains with the supervised entity.
Reliance scope
Each product output declares an explicit reliance scope - the technical use it supports and its limits (permitted use, what is not permitted, covered and uncovered sources, supported jurisdictions, and evidence freshness). A reliance scope is not a legal opinion, contractual guarantee, insurance, or obligation of result. Accepting reusable evidentiary facts does not transfer any reviewer’s duty of diligence or decision.
Data and security posture
VERIDEX processes SHA-256 document fingerprints (hashes) and does not store original content without explicit authorization. Anchors are designed not to include document content; they record cryptographic hashes and related transaction metadata, which we treat as privacy-relevant and minimise. See our Privacy & cookies policy.
Independent review
VERIDEX’s methodology and problem analysis have been reviewed by independent counsel under non-disclosure. Pilot evidence, counsel opinions and design-partner detail are shared only under NDA with authorized counterparties.
